...a note from our President

Hello Everyone,

Summer is here bringing in more greenery, warmer days, but still cool nights and mornings. We had our annual owners meeting Memorial Day weekend and would like to welcome and thank Jim Ballou and John Clark who were elected to the board. Officers for 2025 are: Michael Brown, President; Bobby McMahan, Secretary and Vice President; Jim Ballou, Treasurer; Curt Rye, At-Large and Grounds Committee and John Clark, At-Large

I have been impressed with both Yancey and Mitchell County Helene cleanup efforts and feel we are getting the roads, banks, and immediate areas back to normal. Our community looks great and I must acknowledge how the Huskins continue to do a great job, especially with the amount of extra work Helene gave us.

We have one new home construction underway and one or two on the horizon.

We are looking forward to the annual July 4 th celebration coming up and hope to see you there. Thanks to Trina, Phyllis, and Sarah (team party!) for putting the event together.

Livestaking Project to Repair Crabtree Stream

Plans are underway to restore our beautiful stream severely damaged during Hurricane Helene.

Live staking is a planting technique where cuttings from certain woody plants are directly inserted into the ground to establish new trees or shrubs. It’s a low cost method for streambank, erosion control and establishing riparian buffers.

Staking will be done when the plants are dormant and we will be looking for volunteers to help us! Stay Tuned!

Dumpster Diving Bears!

Please be vigilant about locking the dumpster when you have finished placing trash! The bear population is active, and it could be dangerous.
